Does this count cause i like how it looks and it can't be missed.
Not sure on this one but I'll try to find out for you?
You can but o be safe I would not recommend it. If you were to go for this, then the character being powered by lighting has to be conveyed very well. That part of the character design has to be easily recognizable to the judges of the competition. Lastly you can use any render of your choice.
@jonatan-moonchild happy to see you here again for another year. Will get to changing that as soon as we can. Thanks for that.@3dc If you feel like the judges will find this to be recognizable, then you can go for it.
I have a question concerning symbols. If the character would be - for example - in a steampunk style, can those symbols became ornamental, in a Victorian style? Or if it would be some rough barbarian, can this symbols be roughly carved in a piece of rock or cut in furry leather? Or they must remain clean and unaltered - depict as they are in the brief?
Thank you in advance.Jonatan
Edit: Forget my question. I just went thru above comments (I know - I should have done this before asking stupid questions) and I found the answer. Sorry for bothering.
yaay I was anticipating this challenge, hoping to meet friends and get better! good luck everyone!
What are the rules on backgrounds? Are we meant to be doing a full character illustration in an environment or a simple character design with little to no environment?
It's up to you really. Your character should be the main focus, but if you want to add an enviromnent to give your character more context you are free to do so.
You can see the finalist of last year's artwar here to get an idea of what the judges might look for: https://forums.cubebrush.co/contests/art-war-3-round-1
Thanks! Are we meant to submit a character sheet with it as well? Last year's entries all seemed to have them.
@jinrou18 NO character sheet needed.
Hello! I want to specify the size of final work. Can't find it (sorry if I'm just blind!)! Help!
Your final submission needs to be at least 2048 pixels in either height or width. You can find the info here: https://forums.cubebrush.co/t/2d-submission-requirements/6047
That's a different logo so it wouldn't work. Think of it as a company/brand logo, the outline/silhouette should be 99% the same (think of the Nike logo, McDonalds, etc).
Adding to this - Tools can be used (think of brushes, plugins, filters, etc) but Megascans are assets so while it can be used in the exploration process, it should not be used for the final character.
When it comes to the elements, it's a war between the 4 "factions" so we recommend being more obvious about it rather than not enough and potentially losing points because of it. Ambiguity will not play in your favor
Hope that answers it!
Feel so late to the party already...just saw this right now.And again it will be tedious to take a side !Time for thumbnails a lot.
Anyways all the best of luck to you Art War competitors !!!
Thanks for the clarification.
Where can i see which countries are eligible for shipping rewards to, last time i checked mine wasnt on the list so i had to drop the contest
Right at the top of that link, good luck, also if you know someone that is in an allowed area they can update and enter for you in your behalf it says.
It is my moment
Question:To my understanding this is a war between 4 fractions, so we need to create a champion that represents one, that being said it´s not necessary to make our champion have elemental powers right? We could do a shaman that belongs to the fire fraction by just focusing on the character design without giving him elemental powers, but rather a simple bow, is that correct? Thank you!
