Art Blog October 2022
Kim Jung Gi
I am still shocked by the passing of Kim Jung Gi. My heart pours out to those that knew him, his family and his students. I am very saddened by this and still can't believe it.
Of all the artwork that was posted this past month in his honor, this one for some reason makes me cry every time I see it, because it expresses what he meant to us as a creative online community. I always felt I could show his skill to others to see what we may all as artists accomplish with honesty to ones self, and love.

He was a true phenomenon of hard work, creativity and dedication.
Rest in Peace.
More Words
I have to say that its been a really eye opening year with art. As the holidays approach you blink twice, eat two slices of pie and the year is over. And in the week since Brushtober has ended I have had some time to reflect.
I haven't been involved in art this much in a year in a long time and it has been really rewarding. But also opened old wounds, and forced me to deal with them. I am looking at my time differently than how I was before. And that has significant value.
I put more investment into "real life" instead of neglecting things by drawing for too long. I work on my life outside of art in order to have a healthy and fun relationship with it, and I must recommend that other people do the same. Finding balance is more important to your health and spirit. To sit down with a clear head and make goals for what I want to do is a new experience. Before I just sort of put my head down, drew what people told me to and let things happen too me.
I've spent a lot of time in discord talking to people from this community this year. Which has been so cool, because it is so hard to find anywhere to talk about this stuff with anyone. There are some real heavy hitters in there. But I want everyone to know that they are so open, and welcoming, and helpful, and last but not least, real. Everyone is also extremely young LOL. They will give it to you straight. It made me really happy too see people that participate in this community and are extremely smart and very studious. It also made me feel for the people who are still looking for a place to land, or a tribe to fit into, and dont quite know how within a growing public art education community.
MENTIONS
@wyngarts That makes me smile, I really hope they do help people who are seeking the knowledge of the fundamentals and shape language for a long time.
