Yay! I have finally taken the leap and applied to Game Art and Interaction at HKU! It will be a scary journey after having spent time at Teacher of Fine Arts at a regular University and I know I will compare the two a lot in the following entries.
Entry exam: the interview
The entry exam wasn't that different from what I was used to. The only difference was that digital work wasn't frowned upon and there was no additional exam apart from the little unexpected test they gave me during the interview, which was interesting. After our chat they asked me to wait outside until they'd discussed my work privately. Usually they send mails to applicants, but since I was a "special" case who had the interview less than 2 weeks before the start of a new year, they let me know right after the interview.
For the exam I was required to prepare a portfolio, create a (analog) game, video of the game and a motivation letter.
Here's the game I made consisting of 5 card types.
