Quick hand studies, a torso study and a lot of head doodles. I should listen to podcasts more while I draw, it was pretty relaxing.
Added more doodles to the page. And am struggling/working on this nami drawing. After i become stasified with the face, i will use reference to fix the arms/anatomy because it feels wrong. And a random quick sketch of a dude, i started by just doodlin an arm and it turned into that, i kind of like the feeling of it even tho it is heavily flawed.
You got a good eye for the anime art style, and your B/W studies are interesting. Maybe you could learn/study foreshortening? It can help increase the illusion of the depth and distance in your character portraits. For example, your Nessa illustration is posed and rendered nicely, but you could learn how to skew her front arm and hand to make it look like it's coming forward. As it is now, it looks like it's stretching only to her right. Just a thought.
Your Sailor Moon drawing looks beautiful. I'd love to see more of your work.
Thanks tj, yeah I am pretty bad at foreshortening, are there any books you'd recommend for that?
Also did a lot of doodles last time i drew. And kind of drew over an old sketch of mine.
Nice sketches once again! I really like your style. It's very elegant in the way you do your lines and proportions.
@Gevoian When I was in Uni, our lecturers recommended the book "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way."
Although it's written in the context of illustrating comics, it still has valuable lessons in character design/drawing, including foreshortening and perspective. You can apply these lessons to any art style too, including the anime style. It's a good place to start. ^^
Just chiming in to second the recommendation of "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way". It's a great overview of a lot of concepts in drawing and John Buscema is one of the best artists of the classic Marvel era.
Thanks guys, I'll definitely take a look at it.
I did some improvements to old sketches, as well as new sketches and a new attack on titan fanart that is almost done, still needs more polish.
First image is some poses and a character design potentially for a future comic/webtoon years before its ready. Second image are some heads from memory as well as reference. I like the girl in middle. Third image is some improvements to old sketch, to the face, slightly. Fourth image are some doodles/shitposts. Fifth image is a quick doodle. 6th image is eren wip, almost done fanart. 7th image is a redraw of an old doodle. 8th image is some doodles, back anatomy/porportions arent lookin too good, as well as some shaky leg anatomy at some places. i need to draw more back views. 9th image is an old fubuki drawing i revamped in some ways.
forgot to add these sketches that i did with the previous post.
Lovely drawings once again
Haven't been drawing much lately, havent had the time or drive to. But I did some recent doodles a few days ago, also fixed/updated an old fanart, and a wip of a demon slayer fanart. I like some of the head doodles I did, when I don't use construction or guidelines and the head comes out ok, it feels good. Back to schoolwork i go, still plan to do some studies in the future of foreshortening and other things.
I really like your style ! It's cool to see you mix good academic drawing and manga stylisation.
added more doodles to the page
did a lot of doodles, satisfied with some of them
Your Ahri looks beautiful
doodles and redraws of old stuff. im liking lineart more but faces and anatomy not so much.
The realistic faces are referenced, reference drawings r much more relaxing to draw but not impressive to me personally.
