Hello there!
I am new here, this is my first post. I would like to get some constructive criticism concerning this artwork. I am going to work on something different the next days, but I intend to re-design every main character, so please don't hesitate to share your ideas.

The idea:

Since I first came across the series from History channel, I wanted to paint a cross between 'Vikings' and 'How to Train Your Dragon'. I am absolutely in love with the movies and the pagan viking culture, and I couldn't help myself... I wanted to re-design the main characters, and dragons as well, and put them in front of the Vikings season 2 poster background, because back then I thought it was impressive. Nearly 2 years has passed since then. I collected enough self-confidence to actually take some steps now.

My own thoughts:

As for the character, I feel like I was stuck with the original design too much. It could have needed some more details or changes. Furthermore, Fishlegs looks stupid here, a "free kill", though I find him quite a smart person, and in my "adult" version of HTTYD this is an even more important trait.

Concerning the style and technique, I had to realise to important things: first, while the unnatural light set-up works on the poster, it doesn't look too good on the painting, and second, I tried to mimic Marc's tutorials so much, the style strongly reminds me of his works (but not on the same level, of course). Other two minor things: the pants which were intended to be baggy look flat, and the feet do not look right either.

As I said, C&C are very welcome.
Thank you for taking a look!
