These took so long, but I already "detected" improvement, as I didn't need to adjust as many lines in the second one (while overlaying). Definitely will do more of these
Ohh my... these are quite "disturbing". Key Learnings - Day 1: I get way too small when drawing on paper, I use way too many lines when drawing digitally. And it doesn't get any better when drawing for 60 secs instead of 30 The first two pages are 30-sec gestures, the last one 60-sec gestures. Any further advice is more than welcome
Got the feeling of slight improvement after reflecting on the issues of day 1. Still, a looong way to go, but someday, somehow
Next Assignment, following the tutorial... but got intimidated at some point and tried to "wing" it and to include some different stuff just to mix it up. Feedback is very welcome
Very nice Julia. Good line quality and understanding of the shapes. Careful on the curved window: left side doesn't match the right one and it feels strange for a glass object. Also, I would revisit the pipe going into the floor: it's top part is not exactly parallel to the ground, and it seems weird.
Hey, you are so right! It didn't occur to me, but now I can't un-see it I will try to fix it the best I can
Obviously, I need more practice I guess I am in need of the anatomy and shading terms! Any feedback/tip is highly appreciated.
Just watched the feedback session (can we still call it session? I guess I'll call it feedback day). Wish I could have been there, it was quite special I tried to fix the Tardis: I added window frames (thanks to Alonso for pointing it out) and slightly adjusted the window plane (thanks to Xenia for even going the extra mile!) The "stick" on the left side which was pointed out by Marc, wasn't easy, still not 100% sure about it... If there is still something that needs adjustment please tell me!
Couldn't resist watching term 2 videos I'm always drawing this little "monster" when doodling, I don't even know why... you can also find it in my perspective drawing Using forms isn't as easy as it looked like in marcs video... but I guess I need to get used to that
Tried my best to achieve good results, obviously, my blending results automatically in lighter colours... and my lines are shaky
I got totally lost in this portrait, fixing one little thing lead immediately to awareness about all the other things that needed fixing The hair is obviously still missing... after some tips from VonSchlippe it will follow shortly.
Added more forehead and reduced the hair-highlights after Marc's feedback. I did encounter some issues regarding the colour... which looked totally different on my drawing monitor. Did a lot of colour corrections (thanks to hints on the discord server).
I'm AMAZED by the realistic feeling this gives. Congrats!!!
Aww thank you There were a lot of steps I struggled a lot with, but it taught me, that I need to just "go for it" sometimes. Always second-guessing myself
Looks great!
Thank you! Just saw that my drawing was picked for the gallery Can't express how honored I feel right now!!
This portrait looks amazing! Good Job! Love the detail on the facial features!
Thank you!!
Really nice portrait Julia! Give some shadow on the bottom of the lower lip beceause it looks a bit flatter than everything else, good job nontheless!
Yeah you're right, thank you!
