*Update: I am now finished. I'm putting my character sheet and final illustration up here for convenience sake. I feel like if I had more time to brainstorm and really think of a truly innovative and interesting idea, I would have done better. I could have spent more time on focusing on an interesting, dramatic composition that fits well with an interesting character. Alas, I am 18 years old and still in high school. I greatly enjoyed this project and I hope to participate in more Cubebrush forum contests!
Hi everyone,
A little late to the game (2 months late to be exact) but I still think I can make a decent illustration in that time.
When I saw this contest, I initially was thinking about joining the Sci Fi team, but I wanted to challenge myself and do some Fantasy. Besides, when working with Fantasy I wouldn't need to abide by the laws of physics and I wouldn't need to explain the technology behind my character's powers / weapons (because magic).
Anyway, I suck at drawing faces, and since time is short, I figure I'd just go with a fully armored knight - like character.
Here are a few things I thought up:
- Knightly armor and robes (former Zealot of some order / fantasy religion)
- Cursed (I'll think of powers later)
- Immortal
- Can manifest himself in the spiritual realm
- Can travel between dimensions
I kind of want him to look almost "holy", as if he were a paladin or a holy knight before his transformation.
So here are my 4 variations of plate armor:
Armors B and C are very "holy-like", but I kinda like the draconic and almost demonic feel of armor A. Option D is just kinda reminds me of the Dwarven armor from Skyrim.
I'm leaning toward armor C and a bit of B, maybe incorporate some of the 'edginess' of armor A into the helmet.
Updates will come shortly. I appreciate any ideas or feedback.
