Hello! I join the dark side in this war. My concept is based on the mythical demon called Behemoth who was known for his 'devouring habits' and animal-like appearance. Mine 'Behemoth' is basically a hippo-centaur armed with two gigantic flails. He was summoned through the portal to destroy the world but warriors of light were already there waiting for him.
Hope judges will forgive me for creating the topic so late. I am new to your website and didn't realize that it was a mandatory. As soon as i saw this challenge it inspired me and i started painting without looking deeper into the rules (hella fool i am!) Anyways i am gonna pretend i created this topic in time and post some of my progress below. Here are some of my initial sketches. By looking at them you probably can tell why i didn't want to show them to bigger audience. (They are painful to look at)
And here are some major steps of illustrations progress. I have to admit i have learned a lot by doing this kind of complex illustration. It was definetely worth to enter the competition even if my entry wouldn't be considered due to late entry. (Though I am still mad at myself for not reading the rules thoroughly).
Don't forget the concept sheet Also I think it would look better with rocks flailing in the air. Goodluck!
