And to top off this design, here we have the coloured version. I never added many details or anything to this character because he's supposed to just be a researcher, and I wouldn't imagine scholars going out of their way to look flashy while they're out in the field.

Feel free to leave any critique you can think of that would help me push this just a little further! I'm thinking I might play with the levels a little bit just to give it more of that dark look but that's just my though.

*minus the hands, I know those are jank as hell and that's because I'm not planning on keeping them looking like they do in the corrupted iteration, or from the picture plans will see of this researcher in the campaign he'll be in.

So, more of the same for this unit. Here's the first 3 iterations of the female character I'm working on. This is going to be a herbalist character that's going to be the alchemist/herbalist in the town the players will have to interact with. Personally I'm gravitating towards C, and one of my friends also thinks C looks the best but again I'm looking for additional sets of eyes.

I like C here the best, that is a really cool texture on the hood of the character,

current version of the character. Outside of the hands (I really gotta work on these...) my main area of concern is the face, I can't for whatever reason get that warm smile feeling that you sometimes see despite looking at some references. Notta clue what I'm doing wrong with that but it could just be where I'm still working in black and white so it could be messing with my eyes?

Outside of that, I feel like I've been stepping into the realm of over rendering...

So, here's the coloured version of the herbalist.

Having gone through some of the later lessons I learned how Marc actually handles black and white shading, which would have helped with this, so I will be applying that to later paintings.

I agree with this, I do everything in black and white for now. I have no idea how people paint in color lol! Keep up the good work!

Hey all, haven't post much in the last while because I've just been doing more studying than actually drawing, though I had been doing some figure drawing for 3 or more weeks trying to work on anatomy.

I was wondering if anybody would be willing to lend an additional set of eyes to help pick out any specific areas that come across as weaknesses in my pieces, because we're our own biggest critic and when I look at my drawings I see nothing but errors, and very little solid bits that might not need as much refining as something like hands.

It would be greatly appreciated, and I'll post the figure drawing pieces I've done in the following days  .

There drawings were all done in 10 minute sections, with some minor changes to the references so as to try and later turn them into drawings involving my FFXIV character which totally isn't the reason why I haven't been drawing daily.
