Looks good! seems you are getting better with lineart and general forms. There's some noticeable improvement in the Misty study.

Nice work on the perspective, and gestures.
Nice work on the character studies. The eyes look a bit too wide, I think. Who is the first character?

Yo those character studies are really nice, it helps to be able to compare to your reference, if any. I really like the counterpose and gesture of the second one in particular, looks like a very purposeful use of applied anatomy there, the way she has her head tilted one way, eyes looking opposite, shoulder forward, the gesture of the fingers etc

First one, I think the foot is a bit short (compare to forearm)

cheers!

Thank you @snakker, I updated the post with the reference I took. The study I made in the second one was from an sketch made by Artgerm; I like so much his drawings and the poses he uses are great!.
In the first one, you are right , I'm trying to focus this week in understanding how to handle proportions properly : ).

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your comments : ). Almost done for the term 1 although still pending work to do.

TERM 1
Week 6 Perspective

I took two weeks this time. I found very useful to continue the 30 days challenge from Marc's channel; it helped me a lot to feel more confidence in the perspective excercise.

Feelings:

  • Honestly, I got a little confused drawing the room at the beginning and as I was progressing, I found myself redrawing some parts due confusion in perspective and it took me long time to finish the assignment.
    • In the perspective assignment It was interesting to add details that don't exist in my real living room. It was hard but fun
  • The 30 days challenge helped me a lot to getting faster and more accurate in the perspective assingment.
  • I tried again the proportions exercise; at the end , I found it kind of annoying :/. I'm still failing in this excercise in proportions; I think I should find another way or other exercises to improve this skill or take some distance from it by the moment. I'm open to ideas to improve this skill
  • In 5 minutes gesture drawing I found myself a little confused; I had more time to draw, but I was not able to decide what details to draw. I guess I need more practice and anatomy practice.

  • I could barely finish the room assignment so I haven't started any environment study yet :expressionless:

Gesture drawing (5min) exercise this week.

3 life changing drawing excercices - First excercise

30 days challenge - until day 20

Perspective assignment - My living room

I feel as if I hadn't drawn a character in a while  ; I'll take advantage of the next week to continue doing character studies and complete some environment studies too.

Note: I see that many of you have a picture in your forum profile, I'd love to know how to change the mine; I'm getting tired of the orange square

Thank you all!!

Yo, good work all around man.

As for the profile image, right here:

As for gestures, I think your work looks fine. The idea is to capture the "pose" or "energy" of the reference, beyond that, there are few guidelines. It helps to look for the relative position of the spine and limbs, though it seems some with more experience go directly in 3D shapes of the overall body.

It's all about refining your observation skill though, so as long as you keep trying, it's alright.

Love the room, many (including myself) struggle with perspective, but you can easily tell the angle and most objects. There is clear intento to use lineart weight to enforce the perspective, and most proportions seem to fit in well, so overall it looks good.

I think with gesture drawings I usually get as many details as I can after I capture the pose. There was so much time left with that when it's 5 minutes.
The living room line art looks so clean as well as the shapes.

8 days later

Thank you @daceronine  , I'll keep in mind your advices on gesture drawing, I'll try to improve on week 8; On the room you are right, I tried to use the line weight to emphasize objects that are closer,; I struggled a little with small and most distant objects so I have to improve that too.

For the profile I did what you said but the small square doesn't seem to be changed :pensive:

Thanks @gregorya !. I may spend too much time trying to capture the pose before adding details. When I think I capture the pose, some times I focus too much in a single part of the body and because of that, I screw up the proportions of the entire body .

I hope after doing the living room, I spend less time to draw an environment

I have heard of others having similar issues with the profile picture not updating. I think it might be worth trying the usual recommendations:
1) Might take up to 24 hours to update.
2) Try clearing cache or opening in another browser to try to force it to update.
3) Maybe resolution/type affects it? The one I use is 1024x874, PNG format., 82kb. Maybe try to use that format and see if it helps?

Thank you!. I tried your recommendations; Now, i'll wait 24 hrs

23 days later

Hello Everyone!! I had a couple of hard weeks in my workplace ( a project and team switch in my job) :disappointed_relieved: but I'm keep on going donig my best to keep improving : ).

TERM 1
Week 7 and 8 Perspective

I finally finished the assignments for the last week in the first term. Apart of my situtations, honestly, it was challenging for me to finish the 2 point vanishing point perspective assignment; despite of that I decided to continue the 30 days challenge from Marc's channel; It helped me to keep my skills.

Feelings:

  • In the assignment, I maybe chose a building a bit hard to draw for my current skills, but at the end, It helped me to understand and improve some skills that I guess I had to learn.
  • I was starting to get a little bored because I was spending more time in the environment study assignment than drawing characters (apparently I like character drawing more  ) .
  • Despite I continued doing the 2 minutes gesture drawing for all these days, honestly I don't feel the improvement in my observation skills (on capturing the rythm); I may be study better the way I do this exercise.

  • Despite I like Dragon Ball so much and Akira toriyama's style, this is the first time I draw Goku

Still pending some term 1 assignments that I want to finish (like environments and characters studies) but I think I will move forward to the next term and keep advancing.

Gesture drawing (2min) exercise this week.

30 days challenge excercises

Perspective assignment - Street corner Buidling - Pavon Theatre - Madrid, Spain

Character study

At the end I was not able to change my photo profile : /. I maybe have to resign myself to be the orange square : (

Hope you are all good!. Thank you !!

Maybe the pic u used was too big?

Nice studies btw!
