Nice work! These keep getting better! One thing that helped me when I was grinding the proportions exercise was I brought the demo into photoshop, popped a new layer and hid everything but the grid. I would do my drawing over the blank grid and then could toggle on the example to see how far off I was so I could check myself and eventually after many practices Idid not need it anymore. I felt like that helped quite a bit. Keep up the good work!
Well, to be honest, I ended this week with still practicing Proportion. I couldn't make time for other Exercises. Thou i watched the Video about Visual Communication, interesting topics. And on Friday i tried my first Gesture Drawing with proportions. And it was honestly a nightmare. I couldn't find a right way to measure from the Reference, so i ended up building a Measure-Pencil, like Marc Brunet used in his Video. And after a few hours, on the third try, the result was still
So i will invest more time with Proportion-Exercises, before i try more of this.
Honestly it does not look to bad for the first try, If I were you I would keep doing the proportion exercises, but on the side try doing the cylinder skeleton exercise bot with refrence on the side instead of drawing over the body. Using mesuring pencil is not a bad idea i do it myself allthough i just pop in a line one a seperate layer insted of constucting a full on pencile You can allso try doing more seture drawing but instead of focusing on the outline try draing just "bones" and joints (by bones i mean drawing a line through the midle of a leg instead of outlineing it) you can use boxes for the chest an pelvis. Keep it up! Hope to see more of your work soon
Nice to see you working on your figures. Thats true there is a lot to study and practice, it might seem daunting a times, but I cant tell you for sure practice works.
I have been practicing hands for the past 3 weeks becouse i find them really dificult with all the forshortening and overlaping. But today while drawing a character i constucted a hand whitout much effort and it looked decent in my opinion. With enough taime and dedication you will see things that seem dificult for you now becom easier and easier.
Keep on trucking , Hope to see more of your progress in the near future.
This is my first time looking through your thread, and it's awesome to see the improvement you've made!
In your figure drawings, I notice that you lose the perspective on certain poses when their bodies are turning or foreshortened. When the model is turned like we see a lot more of her front hip and thigh while we see less of the other side of the hip and thigh. It takes a lot of practice to get a feel for perspective, so keep it up!

I am practicing not so much as i wish i would, the heat of Summer ist not my friend
and sometimes i feel as my Progress is going sideways and not forward.
But Marc said that learning Art is a Marathon so keep going.
I try to do a little Art every Day, the Pen-Control-Practice is a minimum. And I find time to do the very first Assignments to practice with my Software (Krita), Image Adjustments and Combining Images. Just to unwind my Mind a little.
Just skimmed your work, from the first to the last it is clear that your eye is being trained by all the draw overs you are doing. Each time you are training your subconscious to understand form.
Keep going and don't beat yourself up if you miss some days.

All the best.

I took some Time to practice with my Krita-Software. I used the Pictures from the 1 Term Photoshop-Assignments:
First, the Apples
and for Second, try to Morph a Photo from an Old Person and a Young Person, not so happy with the hairstyle. (Kind of Gendo Ikari Vibes?)
And practice with the Liquify-Tool in Krita. That is some sort off horrible Result

After some kind of Flu, it is Time to Start all over again
I build a little "Dreamhouse"
And this are the Source Material:
And a little curious Question for the more experience Art-School Students.
When Do you know that the Skill-Level is okay to continue with Term 2?
Should your Skill be perfect? Or Do you just continue after a period of Time, no matter how good you are?
