I’m currently enrolled in term 1 of Marc’s Art School. I’m hoping that this course can give me the confidence to become good enough to start making my own manga. I’ve learnt a lot from him on his YouTube channel and hope that his course can explore more of the topics he touches on there. I hope by enrolling in this course and joining this forum it encourages me to grow as an artist. I’m excited to start this journey.

This is my last completed drawing I did December 2021. Something to look back on to see how much I’ve improved through this journey.

Welcome to the group! I look forward to seeing your progress! It looks like you have a lot of skills already!

I’m using procreate, so I’m not sure if the colour level has more control on photoshop but as you can tell I really struggled to match the final image. Especially on the girl.

Any feedback would be great? What is everyone’s workflow tackling something like this? I.e. start with brightness, saturation and hue then go more into the colour levels?

These are really well done. Most people have a really hard time with the beach scene. I heard Marc say once its 3 changes and if you don't hit it, it's best to start over from the beginning than try to correct from there. For workflow I generally just play with the settings until I find something I like, I generally play with curves first. But that's just me. Keep it up!

Thanks Lockenheim, that’s some good tips. You said that you usually just play with the curves but can you alter the saturation in the curves? In procreate it seems that in the gamma you can only change the brightness, am I missing something?

Hmm for that I'm not sure. I am sorry I am only familiar with photoshop. Maybe someone on the discord is more familiar with procreate?

Very nice job! These look really good!
