Art Events, Conventions, and Conferences?

Hello guys!

Lately, I started to gain the confidence to go and network with other artists and creators. However, I am having a hard time knowing where to look in the United States. I hope this isn't a silly topic to bring up, but I feel a bit overwhelmed all these different art events to go to. I live in Virginia so around where I am there aren't many places to go, but I am not even sure where to go outside of Virginia.

I seen Adobe Max, the Trojan Horse was a Unicorn, and anime/ comics cons, but I feel a bit stuck since I don't have the means to travel at the moment so these more popular events are out of my reach. But I know that for my style and the things I illustration I do want to go to an anime or game convention probably. But I guess I am trying to find something a little bit closer to home? A place where I can start off networking.

Best advice would be to google what kind of events are in the Virginia area. Maybe small comic shops hosting events where artist can gather with fans of comics. I'm not in your area so this is all I can say that might help you.
Other than this, you'll just have to save up enough money to travel to a bigger event in the future.

That sounds good! I'll try to see what I can find around that would work for me. And saving up to go to a bigger one sounds like a plan. Thank you for your help!
