So exited for this contest. It's easy to start but hard to actually finish my entry in time. Will procrastinate less this time.

It's pretty large. It definitely draws the eye to the hand, but it's not a very expressive hand pose, so I'm not sure why my attention is being called there... but I imagine you still have some costume design you plan to work on!

Thank you for responding. Plus she will be doing something with her hand, for now I think she'll be holding a skull which is turning to ashes. One of her abilities is to turn things to ash when touched with her right hand.

Found a better pose i think.
It shows more of her while still
not being a simple standing pose.
She is themed off a spider so i'm going
with this one.

I've changes the pose/composition again. This one is more dynamic and interesting so hopefully I'll stick with it.
Started coloring the the branches of the tree she's sitting in.

Changed my composition again. At this point, I doubt I will finish this. I am extremely disappointed in myself.

Your composition with the tree was interesting. You just need to refine the drawing/composition while you move forward with your illustration. No disappointement guaranteed. Also, deadline have been extended by one week.

I'm going to shrink the final image down to size-hope it looks good.
So this is where I am at so far. She's going to be holding two enemies of the light in her tentacles, wrapping them up in web. Her hair is long and is also web which she uses to make webs for traps. Plus she's suppose to looks grey and ashy and trashy, going to fix that. The colors on her are also a bit saturated than what I'm going for. All will be fixed.
