Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing great and I would love any feedback and C&C as I go about making my character for this contest.
Summary:
Agila is a member of Abarouk Tribe, a young woman staring at the gates of adulthood. Throughout her life, she has been raised by her grandfather and taught the history of her tribe and of the Thunder Roc, who gave birth to their people and granted them powers to commune with the land around them.
That was many years ago. Now, the Thunder Roc has long since disappeared, the Abarouk Tribe faces drought and famine, and Agila’s grandfather falls mortally ill. Worse has come to worst as the looming winter approaches and hope begins to dwindle, but the teachings of Agila’s grandfather has taught her that this was far from the end.
Knowing what she has to do, Agila departs from the Tribe despite their heavy protests to travel the land in search of their legendary winged progenitor. Equipped with her teachings, her tribal powers to connect with the land and her unfortunate short attention span, the young adolescent braves the wilds of the Outlands in search for the Thunder Roc to save her people.
Silhouettes:
For this contest I decided to return to my roots and draw inspiration from native Filipino tribes and their clothing. I was especially fascinated by our national bird : The Philippine eagle. Which is known as the worlds rarest type of eagle.
Exploration and sketches:
In this stage I just want to get to know my character more. I'm playing around with how her overall look will be and looking for things that can and can't work. I picked my favorite silhouette and worked from there, adding some details and doodling some expressions just to play with her face and personality. Everything is still very rough and dirty at this point.

Environment sketches:
I decided to play around with a couple of environments to further push where I want to go with her character. These sketches really helped me when it came to the feel of the world I want her to be in. And I've gathered more ideas on how to bring the personality of her world into her character.

Expression Sketches
Expressions are a ton of fun to do, so I decided to play around with a few faces.
