After thinking and trying different comps, I figured out that for what I was trying to do, that is show clouds follow the War God and covering the city, an establishing shot might be a more appropriate choice. But I think it isn't good for the contest, so I am going to try something completely different...

It's really great story wise, but yeah for this contest it doesn't really work, you're good so I'm sure you're gonna find a really epic composition to show your character!

Finally I hope I got the value idea. I struggled a lot to decide whether to have the WAR GOD, light against dark since the clouds above him are dark and he can be lighted from a fire below. Or do the opposite since the sky is still THE light source. Looking at photos of tornadoes and some movies made me go for the second option, hopefully the better one, but in the end I think it's just a matter of taste or mood that one wants to convey. I also think that it should be a low key image with only the fire and the GODs eyes bright.

I think this one works fine and you can still have a fire below to make him pop a bit more
