Anyways, some info on me

For now facebook is where I'm at, I cleared everything from my artstation to start anew. It's empty right now so I won't be putting a link to it.

I really love your copious notes and reworks, I need to implement more of that! I wish more people would show their design process like you do.

i can tell you're really excited! awesome stuff :smile:

@coeus Thanks!! It took me quite some time until I could define what I really wanted to design. I wanted to hit a very specific aesthetic and feel for this piece, a sort of a religious feel to it like how those greek master paintings do. Things are starting to come together and I hope I am able to execute this well.
@Steve_Kim Yep!! Super excited!! Hahaha

So this is where I'm at right now. First design pass, having a lot of difficulties figuring out the functionality and form language of... stuff in the beginning but most of it is down already so it's fine. All that's left is to flesh out the aesthetics and I'm ready to clean it up and move on to the painting. I'm starting to feel some pressure as I'm a little behind schedule but I am looking forward to get into the painting piece as soon as possible.

Any of y'all out there work like I do having your mood boards and reference on the same canvas with your designs? It'd be really cool to see your process!!

  • A Certain Scientific Scythe -
    Having trouble fitting the scythe in with the front and back view of my character on the square for the concept sheet...

Ohhh wow, very interesting character idea! Unique for sure. The illustration composituon looks very promessing. I am waiting to see more!! :smiley:

Some adjustments and tweaks on the pose, the previous one was to stoic. I still have a few things to explore before I settle down on a final composition and start rendering.

I am liking the uniqueness of this design. I am interested what the final one will look like. :smiley:

I've done all the needed adjustments, made the bose more dynamic as well as recropped the image for better composition. Also laid down some major blocks of light and flipped the image for examination purposes.

A closer look on the main focal point.

Some notes on planning out the rhythm of the image.

Battle in the air, nice! the puch idea is really nice. If you can someheow capture the movement I could imagine how the head just flies off.

Yeah, there's a lot of subtleties in this pose and it's difficult to get things to feel right. I'm working on doing the line art right now and the mechanism on the character's back is giving me a hard time. The mechanism is actually based on a torpedo gyroscope so I gotta really understand the structure and mechanics of it to be able to draw it. This is where I'm at right now.
