Basic mixing all you can imagine.
I have the idea, I gather resources, do research, etc. I still don't really know the right process to create the best art, but I know everyday I learn something new that I can use it next.
One important thing that I learn the hard way is to not get attached to the final art, but to be attached to the process of creating the art. When you throw the old character away and start again really makes you more fearless to experiment and improve, because you don't treat the piece as precious but as a product of the process.
I always had a hard time putting too many hours in one piece, it was frustrating for me, so this really changed me as an artist as soon as I started doing it. I feel more free to explore than before and think more before just render something.
