Hello everyone!
I came across this contest not too long ago and decided I would give it a shot. I still have a ton to learn when it comes to drawing and illustrating. It’s been something I’ve been trying to improve for awhile now. I’m thinking this will be a great way to push myself. Already, been learning lots from reading the other threads. Any feedback to push my designs would be greatly appreciated. Now on to Kiiba!
Champions do not always begin as great warriors. Some don’t even begin as strong or brave. All that matters is when the time comes, they accept the call.
Kiiba is a runt moondeer in a big world where magic is dying out to make way for technology. His home in the forest is in constant threat of being destroyed by the two-legs, but the Moon Guardian – a great warrior chosen by the moon to protect the world - always prevailed. At least until that fateful day.
The two-legs finally found the right weapon to destroy the Moon Guardian and lay waste to the forest. The moondeer population was slashed to the brink of extinction and Kiiba was driven from his home. Alone, homeless, and terrified, Kiiba was ready to give up when the moon chose a new Moon Guardian. Him. The thought of standing up to the two legs frightens him, but Kiiba is doing his best to learn to wield his new powers and perhaps one day restore his world.
Current sketches I have of Kiiba and a full grown/spirit version I intend to incorporate into the final illustration. Those ideas I'll try to get up soon. Still playing with design, colour, etc. Each new drawing I do I get more comfortable with the deer based anatomy.
