Hey, guys. Here is my super late entry for this challenge. I decided to develop character based on folklore character - Koschey, the Deathless. But with western influence. Sort of Death King Leoric guy. Did this exploration today. Pretty happy with the shape. But i feel like i need to be careful with details and design and try to emphasize personality of this guy even more.

Day 2. Did weapons exploration. For this character i need long black sword and curvy wand. It will help me further with composition.
Also did this dude`s portrait, but not sure about it. Need to think more around crown and face features. Dark skin and white hairs looks cool though.

Day 3. Eventually, did only this sketch.

Day 4. Did some design work. So, this guy is an immortal warlock. I imagine, he got his power a long time ago. Before he was the Deathless, he was a powerful leader in ancient civilization. When he discovered this source of power it gave him great abilities. As well as immortality. For reference i used Assyrian armor and jewelry. I was looking for an opportunity to use their designs.
For face reference i took photos from old soviet movie "Koschey Bessmertny/ Koschey the Deathless"

Day 5,6. I have done line art routine, solving problems with details and color. I think i`ll move forward with this one.

Day 7. Illustration time! I decided to go with vertical format. This will allow me to represent character in full lengh. Eventually, i found the pose for this dude. It took me two hours of sketchbook torturing. Now i need to decide which color scheme to pick. Is it a dark misty night, or a cursed swampy field...

Day 8. Started illustration. I decided to go long way. First, i`m going to make black and white illustration, then saturate it and finish with details. Hope everything will go well. Crossed fingers.
