thanks for the reply! I'm not sure which lizard you are talking about, but if you are talking about the snake on the left I'm open to suggestions  . I'll try to tweak the perspective so it works.

There we go, the perspective looks a lot better! and I'm sorry I mistakenly thought of the snake as a lizard! :frowning: The fog is a good idea, it blends with the smoky powers of his! Great work man I see improvements! Looking forward to another update

Thanks! and don't be sorry about mistaking the snake. It's the artist's job to illustrate things in a clear manner; so the error is on me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

Here's where I am right now. I'll be starting the rendering stage now. Wish me luck!

It's looking a lot better, my only advice though is, you gotta put more darker shadows, put more contrast on the face or any focal points you want. put a little vignette as well. I know this isnt the final render, but right now, I cant really tell where the light comes from, my trick here when I get to this point is to shade areas and experiment, just put big brushes down on the area you think should be in shadow, especially the farthest parts from the camera  I hope this helps!

thanks for the advice! Yeah, I still haven't put down the strong lightweights and cast shadows to indicate lighting too much. I'll keep the suggestions in mind as I render it  .

I got the skull just about finished. making a paint texture is a lot harder than I thought! the "accidental" marks that painting traditionally makes had to be intentionally put in there.

Start looking really nice dude !

Here's an update of where I am right now

Wow ! It's becoming really good !
The only thing is the snake that feels a bit awkward, it's pose is a little too stiff but that's all, really good job !

Thanks for the comment! I'll try to give the snake a more smooth curve.

Iv'e modified the colour of the snake, repositioned the hand and added the magic now. School is starting to get more heavy but I think I can still finish it by the Feb

The character is looking pretty clean and really well painted, good job

However, I agree with @Khulim, the snake looks a bit awkward in the scene and unaware of whatever the main character is facing. I think changing it to a more menacing pose facing the viewer would be better.

Also, when detailing the background, I suggest to keep the values in mind, both foreground and background are mostly in the same range.

Other than that, keep up the good work

nice painting skills and cool perspective. The character design is awesome too, love his bird companion haha

@alykam Thanks for the feedback! I'll experiment a little bit with the snake. I'm trying to have a Sylvester vs Tweety bird comedic relationship happening. Since it's not instantly apparent I'll try to modify it to make it better.I'm not finished up with the background just yet, but I'll try to keep it in mind.
@ajramsey thanks for the comment!

I've added more detail into the background. Is the relationship between the snake and woodpecker more apparent?
