Hello, This is EiGi.

I'm Going to be making a piece for the art war contest.
I will be making a submission towards the science fiction side (YEAY FUTURE!).
I'm very exited to participate in this art contest it looks like a lot of fun!
I want to go for something slightly more near future since it would be interesting combining today's warfare practicality (light equipment, high range, smaller more concealable weapons, camouflage) with technologies such as mechanical enhancement and lighter materials.

Looking foreword to participate and seeing other people's submissions. It's really awesome of you to host such a contest (happy 1 year anniversary for the site btw).

I would like to upload a few sketches before the initial concept piece and final piece, is it allowed?

Here is a sketch of the character. Iv'e been putting this aside for a little too long but I feel like I might have benefited from it because Iv'e been practicing a lot.

Iv'e also attempted to throw some color on it. I though I share because why not. Isn't anything fancy just a little bit of color and shade throw it to see how it looks and A To see if the different objects stand out against each other instead of mashing in together. I went overkill and gave her a huge gun, a tavor, a mechanic arm, and five little drones.

It's very rough but It's just sketches so it's fine.

Well It seems like there are only 2 days left for the challenge. I guess sleep can be sacrificed. I'm still on I just taken a long hiatus, so to anyone that is reading this which I assume it's gonna be the judges in hindsight I'm still in and gonna have mine in on time. also good luck to any other contestant. go scify.

Just for kicks since I have this somewhat finished too I decided to upload this as progress/scrap uploading scrap paper and final piece in 20 minutes

Here is the final 2048 by 2048 sheet including inspiration, front and back of the character and a few other things included in the final projects such as composition sketches, pose sketches, and ideas

Man time goes by super slow when you actually do something.

With less than an hour to the several months long competition and I finally finished it. I wish I had more time to make it more polished but I have grown tired of this character and just wished to be over with it. And so I wrapped up the painting and did a few things to make it a bit more flashy and enjoyable to see even if it is filled with underpolished parts. I'm very satisfied with the compositional and posing work I've done as well as the color and design, I feel like the only thing really missing are 2 things: polish and facial consistancy. My I can never seem to draw the same face twice, which is, while odd and peculiar, a million times better curse than to be damned to only be able to draw the same face all the time. Iv'e seen some artists with that and boy am I glad that I need not face this hurdle.

Anyhow I feel like this starts feeling like more of a ramble than a post explaining the piece so in quick closing words I wish you all had a wonderful art war and enjoyed painting and viewing other's artwork as well as a wonderful new year and most importantly GO SCIFY!
