Started off with the color palette. This will not be entirely vivid/colorful... The gloomy atmosphere is crucial for this piece ... but yes, most probably i'll be introducing a rim-light that will add some amount of drama. Let's hope it looks interesting.
As you can see .. these are the key images that help build up the character.
More references will be added as i move forward.

looking good. Have you considered having anklets or thorns around her ankles? I think it would compliment the bracelets she wears. Keep it up!

Me too Stanley =} .. almost everyday ; stuff like magic, distant fantasy realms, mythical creatures are constantly on my mind .... feel there's no place or tolerance for reality.. but we're living it.
And as for her .... There's a little bit about her that i'll be sharing in the final sheet.

Second update : little bit of color for her wings, shadows, fold highlights for her robe, she now has "anklets?" ( I think ) ...

I'm pretty much happy with this ...
Key elements were created based on their meaning and aesthetics in the final composition.
This going to be really tough. Either I bit more than I can chew or I'm being overambitious +_+
Will need to speed things up..
But at the same time I'll have to think carefully as to how I should bring everything together.

Finally found a reference image that fits well with what I have in mind.
However, as you can see, I didn't like the position of her legs ; maybe I could have worked out something with the same pose, but then again.. I wanted to play around a bit and see what can be done to make her more "uncomfortable" or tensed maybe. So I used the biped in 3dsmax and tried to match the pose in the reference photo with the proposed sketch.
