Hi all !!
Have been away a while... I post some armor trials more to find a style than elements by itself. It needs a more Warrior look than a Knight one but the idea become clearer (in mind than on the image hehe)

A first trial on composition, I made it yesterday and I'm still wondering if anatomy is okay ...
I might go on a less "facial" composition EVERY advice is really welcome

Here some more ideas for Armor design, I think that it will fit him better to have a kind of Gladiator outfit instead of a full medieval armor !! Tell me what you think about it

Both sets of armour on the right hand side appeal the most to me.

Thanks Arulan I really appreciate your support I also agree to go further with the more gladiator-like armors, He is ment to be big and powerfull, he should not hide behind a full armor. I will blend a bit of both to make it fits the best in the final image

This should be his pose for the final illustration. It is supposed to have a view from above, and so have a foreshortening view on his body ....
How does the general anatomy feel? Or any advice on some techniques for it..

Hello again! You have chosen (in my opinion) one of the most difficult perspectives to draw. What a challenge! The only advice I can give is spend a good amount of time just looking up reference photos. Then some more, and more on top of that.

Yes you are right, it gonna be though but for the final illustration I think it is the angle that will make most sense. For reference I already took pictures of my daughter in this pose, me taking it standing on the sofa hehe... will see how it goes

So, I finally have a beginning to my final image !!

It happens when scientists from the future dared to open a portal on the ancient world and had the great misfortune to let Draaktich, the champion of all the brutal warriors come in their own world ... When Fantasy comes to Sci-Fi no technology can stop this War God !!!

Also a clearer view on the composition and the lab that will soon burn to ashes ....

Thanks mate !! I will put some scales on the face and kind of outside of the body, shoulders and outside of the arms but not much on chest, trying to suggest the texture without having to do the whole body I will see when everything is pretty done ...

Here the last update for today, my brain and eyes need to rest
(I will also be more carefull on the final one as the screen which I'm working on it gives really dark export...)

Hi,

It's been a long time without update, but I've still been working on it ! Here comes an almost finished dragon ( as feet will be partly hidden ) in a more dynamic and realistic style I think..
It was long hours and hustle, I need to learn a more effective method for the future otherwise I will die young Hope you like it, any critics and comms welcome

Hi, First almost done front view for the character sheet ! The back side might come tonight or tomorrow !! As for the other images I really need to come to the final results as I said before my exports are too dark (screen issue) so I will connect my tablet on the other computer at the end for better color corrections.

Critics and comms welcome as usual ...

Nice work man! I must have missed your progress earlier when you changed the name of the topic! The only thing I could say in my limited knowledge is that you could push the values more on the front concept to make his armour and head pop out a bit more. Though I'm sure you were in the process of that anyway. Good luck!

Hi, Thanks !!

Yes I will do a real value/color/balance work on the end of the process ... I noticed I had issues with my exports values but yesterday I realized that my screen colors are all faded ... So once I have done the concept sheet and the final illustration I will plug my tablet on the other computer ... SO you know the whole story

Time is getting short and that is when you realize all you still have to do lol

Here are my final images achieved in the deadline !! Draaktich the Hybrid, or the Draconian as I learned since This is the end of this war for me, sweat and tears it was !! My personal conclusion is never stop practice and find a more effective work method for myself as I feel that I lost a lot of time on it ...

Thanks to Cubebrush for this contest, I didn't expect to learn (and struggle) that much by participating, it will be very valuable for the future !!!
