her backstory already resignates with her design i think. Can't wait to see the swords! the small thumbnails and her face are beautiful!

Thank you @Gil_Ascher  I'm thrilled the story and design are correlating as the whole point with the design is to tell half the story without the text dump :sunny:

For those who have been following, here are some quick armour scribbles expanding on some of the thumbnails in the previous post  I have to say though that I'm leaning towards number 1 :bear:

If you're instinct tells you than the 1 is better then it's probably because it's the right one and I agree with that!
Nice work

All of them have interesting features.
Second with the diamond (?) tails and third with the nice sheet shapes.

I have no doubt the final result will look good whatever you choose ^^

What I'll probably do is take that one and do some line art variations and change patterns and lengths of things!

I support that! It's gonna be great!!

The first one is super cool, but the draping of the third one gives her more uniqueness, maybe a mix of both?. Very cool concept btw!

Thank you so much! I'll definitely do a variation with the draping, could look pretty awesome

she's looking better and better! 1 defiantly has a more substantial feel! awesome work!

18 days later

Huzzah! Finally (almost) on holiday, so everything is winding down at work. Here are some line art designs for Sabeel, leaning pretty heavily towards design 2! Going to start working on some final illustration compositions as well as doing colour variations today. Want to finalise her colours by this Wednesday (so tomorrow for me) so that I can start with the rendering of her front as well as the splash art! I refuse to miss the deadline for the third year in a row!!!

I totally agree with you on the 2 design, the side skirt is pretty cool! And I'm a fan of asymmetrical design
Can't wait for the net step @sasha-c

Yay! thank you so much for the feedback. I plan on posting some composition sketches today as well  I will admit to having a tiny mental breakdown when I realised that most of my time for the competition has been eaten away by work and other random stuff :frowning: let's hope I can pull it all together

You're welcome!
And don't stress yourself about prioritizing the work that brings you food on your plate, if it's important it's important!

Here is another update, as planned here are the colour options! I like working in three's so if this doesn't work then I'll make another three. I'm leaning towards a combination of 1 and 2 though, so the dark material but the leather jerkin that's browner. What do you guys think?

Nice! I like the blue of the first one, fits the sun theme, since when it's sunny there's a blue sky
And it could work well with the white of n°2!
But I also like n°3!

I'm pretty that's not helping at all sorry xD
But they alllooks great

Fresh!
The colour pattern of the third one remind me of cistercian monk's habit, it gives an instant hero impression.
Praise the sun! :high_brightness:

Agreed with @innocent third for the win : D
Although the first could be interesting too to mix with.

The purple from the first one seems like a solid choice, matching it with the lighter silver armor might be good.

Are you going to put in some of the filigree and shiny cords from the earlier thumbnail 1?

Thank you so much for the responses @innocent, @mr_dessin, @edenriquebq and @PeterH  Seems the consensus is 3, as I spoke to some friends and they also like 3

@PeterH I will be putting the filigree and shiny cords in, although I was debating on making the design on the chest be more of an engraving in leather, so we shall see how that goes with the final rendering. Need to design the pattern fully now that I have some colour options
