I spend a whole lot of time doing what I called volumetric base, especially for the character. Though boring compare to other stage, this will help in the long run for someone like me.

Last WIP of the year
I completed the ambient occlusion and lighting setup for the character. Now that's there, I have all the layers in control in which I can start rendering meaningful details (materials, weathering, and yes background...later).
Besides that, I'll be counting down with my dude THETA right here tonight in my photoshop screen so anyone still working overnight just know that you're not alone we're in this together

My plan is finishing up everything with the least over-rendered issues.
Then move on to last stage of post-editing to adjust any values and color correction, with some DOF and motion blur thing. Welp best not to rely on it much...

Oh this looks so heccin awesome. I'm sure you're already on this, but, I feel like you could add a bit more contrast to really make THETA pop some more. Though in fairness that might be personal preference.
