Inspired by Norse myths, Thrúd is Thor's daughter and a legendary Valkyrie. Sworn to care for her people in the afterlife, when they inexplicably disappear from Valhalla, Thrúd must journey to find and bring them home.

I feel a bit conflicted as to which superpower I want to go for with Thrúd. It's really between strength and lightning powers and I'm drawn to both. Gonna do some sketching to try and get the character a bit more established in my head.

I wasn't really sure I'd have time to enter the Art War this time around but, I thought I should give it a go when I saw the deadline was extended! This is some initial research and thoughts. I'm definitely not really going for 100% historically accurate or going to be super true to Norse mythology (though it's quite confused anyway from what I can tell), but I do want the inspiration for her character to be clear.

Even if you don't make the deadline, I'll be watching. Your inspiration board research doc is informative and inspiring.

Well if you keep the spirit up I think this will be quite fun. I look forward to seeing it.

Gosh but time is flying. I really want to get my composition and final costume sorted by the end of tomorrow ideally ... I worry I might be overthinking too much. I usually do honestly. I feel a bit pulled between making her a superhero and making her a fantasy character with a superpower, does that make sense?

Really nice conceps!! Besides everything its just so well organized.

About the super power i guess whichever desition you make it would be fine, may be you should choose the option you feel more confortable drawing, just a though, hope it helps!!

That's awfully nice of you thank you.

And of course drawing what I feel more comfortable drawing makes a lot of sense. I suppose it's finding the balance between trying to challenge myself creatively but not going so far out of my comfort zone that I'm unable to feel connected to it. Yeah, I think at this stage I get to go for a bit of comfort, thank you.

I saw your note about being scared of the perspective, but e is the most interesting one on there to my eye.

Good job on all those sketches. "i" seems relatively simple to achieve in the time we have, it's also very heroic like something Philip Tan could have drawn.

GOGOGOGO 2 Days left but we can do IT!!!

D2 and I seem to read well to me, Well be keeping a lookout for your final

That feel when you look at the countdown timer.

I started thinking about having the final piece like the panel from a comic book, with maybe some elements breaking out of the frame. I guess I felt like, well if I'm designing a superhero, how far can I push that theme? I suppose this has ended up being really experimental for me, which is a good thing I'm sure!

Initially with this contest I thought I was going to create a muscular barbarian half giant viking woman with super strength ... And yet here we are at a pretty petite girl potentially wearing a chainmail swimsuit with a fist full of lightning ...

Anyway thank you so much all for the encouragement, it's really helped seeing people's thoughts.

GOGOGOGO HOLLY!

Sheet looks really lively and lovely! do your best to finish :D!
