Here is my mood board for this project, my intentions are to mix a lot of mythological aspects of various cultures in one character to make him unique.

Indeed i'll use a lot of eastern symbolism like chinese, indian etc. And i'll try to cross them with nordic cultures and environments.

A quick update to show you my first character ideas, mainly focused on silhouette and poses.
Now I'm gonna go further in clothes, accessories and magic spells.

Crossing more references to the characters and surely but slowly building up their personalities.

Another step focusing on the character's powers

Detail update for the first two characters. Refining the volumes, light and dark to be more readable.
They're still very rough and are subject for redesign during the all process.

Quick update after a big week-end.
I'm starting to like how is turning the third character, i'll maybe dive into it a bit further and try some compositions.
The struggle is still there with the pose. It's cool, but square , I'll certainly have a hard time finding a good composition.

Here Is some color comps test that i did today for the third character.

And here is a second one where I entirely changed colors and posture, looks more dynamic but less hostile.

Still playing with colors and backgrounds, trying to find something who fits well with the character.
Here Annük is more like an astral god , giving him more presence and scale

Quick update for the last composition, adding details to the background.
What do you think about these ones ? Should I keep going on this comp ? Or do I try some more ?

For now I'll stick to this one and keep refining it. BG colors are cool and make a good contrast with the character in white.
I will also have to change the pitch for the contest because everything changed.
I will later refine the character so he can fit with the composition and the story behind it.
