First time participating on ArtWar, I'm so excited for this.
I choose the side of villains. I've always loved villains way more than heroes.

Here is a little backstory of the character I have in mind:

Once archmage, Gamael was deceived and condemned by his own council. He swore vengeance and now, wielding the powerful and dark Bloodmagic, he plans to regain what was once his kingdom.

Thank you everyone for the comments, feedback and love!

Hi guys!

So this is going to be the first update. ArtWar3 has been the boost I needed to start working on this new idea I had for a fantasy world I've been inventing.
Here are some concepts for Gamael, the main protagonist of Bloodmagic™. Despite being the protagonist, he is actually sided with the darkness, seeking for revenge.

The past days I've been playing with different shapes and armours to fit what I have in mind with him. The armour went through several iterations and here are the final results of those ideas. I finally decided to go on with VI.

Now I'm going to detail more the sixth concept, front and back and I'll add some accesories and weapons. Then I'll start with color palette and finally I'll make an illustration of him.

Stay tuned!
Thanks

Hi again,
I'm finished with the thumbnails for the final illustration. I know I said I was going to concept some accesories and/or weapons, I'll do it but I wanted to shift a little in what I was working.
Stay tuned!

By the way, I choosed the fifth iteration this time. I would love to draw him in the sixth thumbnail but I prefer to have more action in the final illustration, maybe later I'll do sixth!

It's worse than that, in the next wip or maybe final image I'm going to unveil the power of Gamael!
Thank you for your comment

Nice style and composition! :+1:

Many many thanks! I'm actually struggling with color palette right now. So maybe I will go back to black & white.

Yeah usually it helps to hold on the colors on the early stages, or working on the ambient lighting and colors as a whole instead of getting into too much detail for just one particular element.
Keep it up!

Many many thanks! I really had troubles with color palette, but it's turning out great!

Nice! I'm also doing bloodmagic theme but this is really cool man! Great job on the composition!

Thank you!
When done don't hesitate to link me your final work too!
