Mother nature unmerciful.. her malevolent side... an elemental force of darkness meant for one thing only, to exact revenge upon mankind for destroying her precious gifts. Disrupting the natural balance of the ecosystem.

The ravens are spirits of the dark. They are her eyes and her form.
As for the butterflies .. they are fragments of the many souls executed by her.

This is in dedication to all the animals driven to extinction.

Particles are supposedly souls being captured or collected? all wrong doers paying the price.

Trying to build up some story / meaning.

The other particles below ; mostly following her .. butterflies from the other realm.
Anyone sees them will obviously be captivated by their beauty .. leading to greed .. to snatch them. But no, it certainly means she's around... watching.

The premise is really cool, can't wait to see it finished ^^ It also reminds me a little bit of Spectre from dota 2 for now (not in a bad way, she's a cool lady :D)

I just checked out that character.. (honestly i haven't played Dota... ever @_@)

But i'll make sure to deviate from it. she has to be something out of the ordinary. More close to nature but on a spirit level.

Brush tests.
Will have to use either the "warp" tool or "liquify" for added flow.

For these tests .. brush opacity is set to 50% and flow is set to 5%

Might settle for this. Two elements such as the glowing butterflies and spirit ravens ( associated with darkness ) will be added later. They complete her.

It's gonna be tricky to use the brush in such a way ; as it should flow and be part of her as well.

Rough shape & color block.
I'm trying for a gloomy feel but with hints of bright colors that stand out from the black areas.

Managed to devote some time.. trying to add some feel to it.
Confused about setting the tone.. warm, cold or a mix.
Maybe midway .. I'll see what works best.

After hours of experimentation … I think this can work (i'll have to make this work o_O ) Something I've not tried before. Risky .. but yes.

It's a really cool color combination and mood (I'm guessing you'll crop it at the marks). Just to add something mildly constructive to the comment - maybe push the blues/purples a little bit more into the ambiance in the bottom (but really just a bit, and it's cool even as it is, so it's more of a test suggestion). Looking forward to seeing more ^^

Yup those are crop marks.

And you read my mind buddy... Was just thinking about adding more blue / purple for sure..
Green is dominating (intentionally) .. But hell yes... Some more purple is needed.

This is so tricky.. i hope i execute it properly.

Kinda yeah... But red ; Omg. I think I'm addicted to it.. In some way.

In this case though.. It had to be purple.. Goes well with green. But also, purple is the color of death. So is black, white. Only few places... Do these colors have a cultural effect, they have a different association in other parts of the world.
