Wow, pure atmosphere. The clouds look amazing. I love looking at other peoples work on here and how they progress. The different techniques and styles. New to Art War this year and grateful to have found. The figure has a real presence. Got an air of mystery to it. Certainly wouldn't want to face it in a dark alley....
You're always welcome ^^
Maybe I'm wrong with this...but whatever reason it is...when we work tirelessly hours on a piece, it has to be personal...I guess ?
I still think I don't put enough of my guts and blood on my work, and it is so painful to me...(usually because I deeply feel inside me I can do better, each time...it's like a force which push me the over way instead of the right path...).
Maybe you should put a bit more of love into your piece as well ? For sure it's opposite to what this piece has to mean...but I feel you should too : D
(yes a odd advice probably xD)
Not at all odd bro.
Regarding your work .. i totally understand. It's not easy to churn out something just as quickly. Give yourself time. Things will fall into place. <3
As for this piece... it is filled with contradiction. There was an idea for another concept so I saved it for later. But not for this contest. It's gonna take a lot out of me ; patience and thinking is crucial. It'll take months for completion.
So i thought .. why not take a piece of that idea and turn it into something else.
The meaning behind this piece is dedicated to all animals ( that's where the love is) and the price that is being paid for their extinction.
Haha you totally read in me xD
I'm sure not a very patient guy...especially when I draw.
If I don't have the perfect idea(s) almost instantly I always have the feeling it is bad (certainly why I create tons of concepts).
But I feel really good when I'm doing that...hard to explain.
Although I will (really) try to take your best advice into consideration : "Give yourself time".
Oh I get it better now !
We also could generelazing it to...why humans have to be so cruel...when they usually don't have to...
Anyways that's deep topic...
Blake! Thank you so much buddy! I hope this will work.
But to tell you the truth .. even i struggle with composition. It's always been a hit or miss for me. So what i do is .. i just keep searching for references. Once i have found something interesting. I put my own twist to it. Followed by the elements that i had in mind to bring the whole piece together. At times .. even the most simplest of compositions can work wonders. It's the main subject that has to shine.
This looks really, really cool.
Something that did strike me though, was that one of the rules is "Your champion must have ONE obvious super power and be shown using it" and looking at this piece, while it's seriously cool, mysterious and downright bad-ass, I don't really know what "super power" is being used or how.
That said you've definitely got the ominous atmosphere down!
