I took the advice @3dc gave me about giving Xoel more arms, but I thought it would be nice to give each arm a particular function or object to carry, even though I must think on the items he will bring with him.
I also improved the anatomy of the character, and that gave me a more clear idea of the volumes that allowed me a more focus on clothing and that kind of stuff.

I'll design these three as different from each other as I can, thus the selection will surely be a nice and well-planned design.

I'm still thinking in the superpower, but maybe it will be the power of reviving corpses and rotten organisms to use them in the battlefield. Any suggestions?

Hey man,
i really like the middle one, his 4 arms modify his anatomy and make his body really weird, unsettling, as two additional arm should, i also like that they're placed like wings, on the back

Hey mn, thanks for your feedback.

I'm agree with you about the wings-kinda-thing from 3rd option, and I plan distort even more that arms that 2nd has.
I could merge the best looking aspects from 3rd and 2nd to form the final design of the character, what do u think?

I agree, making the two pair of arms really different seems like a good option, in terms of anatomy, check out the witcher 3 b&w, has some pretty cool, and plausible muscle grouping :

Awesome suggestion!

I will check that stuff you mentioned.

A friend told me the same thing about the arms, is more credible to have them from the torso and not from the shoulders.

I finally decided the iteration I will develop even further, and I took the elements of iterations 1 and 3 that seemed interesting to me.

About the superpower, I think it will be something related to decomposed bodies and miasma.

I can't wait to add him some color!!

Cool design! Can't wait to see your thumbnails. In the end, if your character doesn't walk, have you considered giving him atrophied legs?

I actually forgot that option!
That's a pretty nice idea! Thank u.

I'm finally done with the development of the color variants, I also added the color of the magic he will use.

Which one looks better?

I think I'll go with the third one 'cuz I liked a lot the color of the magic and the palette of the character itself.

Somehow prefer the last one.
But first and second could work too.

Hey, Christmas kept me busy and didn't have much time to keep it up these days.

Since I finally have the design finished I started thinking about the illustration and what could be in there.

Here I did some value sketches.
I'm thinking on a night scene with inside a deep woods full of corpses.

@acolet there could be a problem with the requerimients if some little parts (like 20% of the character) aren't shown?

I was starting to feel anxious about the deadline and when I returned from vacation I found out deadline extended 7 days!!!

Shouldn't be a problem. We want to clearly see the character, but some parts may be obscured or cropped, up to around 20%. The main issue would be if the judges felt they can't see the character properly, then they would give a worse score to the entry.
Good luck on finishing!

8 days later

Hello!

I'm done with this guy sketch sheet, here u have it.
I'm very proud of the result and I'm putting my head inside out in order to find a nice composition. In the following days I will be posting my progress on it.

Today I did a progress on the illustration composition and palette. The general idea is Umthakati inside a deep woods full of corpses (product of this current war of Villains vs Heroes). We see him using the corpses for power gain.

I liked the palette but I feel I could explore more color options, any ideas?
