I kind of like the idea of small legs that cant support the weight, the creature is already themed in such a way that realism doesnt really matter, in fact I think since this is an abstract kind of concept its actively better to have some things that arent particularly realistic, a la the skinny legs.
The thought of some hideous bulbous mass wandering around in spindly legs is just inherently a little terrifying, reminds me of Junji Ito's Gyo, good freaky scary stuff.
