Hello all! The dealine for ART WAR 3 is closing in so here's a quick update on how to submit your final entry!

1. New official way to submit

On the first post of your entry topic you will now see a "Submit Entry" button - click it and select the images you want to submit and you should be all set!

2. Alternative way to submit

If for any reason you didn't see the submit button, no worries, as long as the first post from your topic is updated with your final images, we'll find them and you will still be considered.

Development for the new submission system took a while longer than planned so we'll be scouting every single entry to make sure everyone who participated is not disqualified because of a technical issue.

I cant get past the Crop Image section to create thumbnail. Just does nothing upon clicking NEXT.
Saw it said maybe problems with Safari, so downloaded Chrome and still cant get past it. Resized crop section to large and small, but wont let me past NEXT button. Just click and nothing happens.

EDIT: Ok so to solve this problem I also downloaded Firefox. Firefox seemed to work.

Cannot get mine to submit. How do I change my first post on the thread to be the final image?

On your first post there should be a pencil icon to edit post. Click pencil and remove what ever is there, then upload concept and final image onto that edited post. Hit Reply button. Should see both concept and final image on the post then.

I'm having a problem where I cannot get beyond the selection of the thumbnail image

For now I shall update the first post :smile:

I managed to confirm the thumbnail selection, but then realized it didn't crop the picture in the way I wanted at all.
My thumbnail is the top right of my picture, it's terrible...

I hope I didn't do all of this to have a wall as my final thumbnail :cry:

Have the same problem, I could finally get through the submission part but it still cropped it at the far right corner of my piece instead of where I wanted it to crop

My entry is still only tagged as "art war" and not "2D", would that be a problem?

Some of the thumbnails in the gallery after we submit is just black (mine and quite of few other people), is there a reason for this?

That aside, the tools for uploading are very slick. Thanks.

Even though I was done with my image a couple days ago I have been trying to submit with the new method and I cannot get pass the “crop” part Help! how do I know if my entry went through?

I've tried different browsers, even different machines and I still find myself getting stuck on the crop stage. Hopefully this gets figured out.

Hey all, we are aware there are a few issues left with certain browsers, we're working on fixing all those this week but even if you don't get it to work, no worries.

If you have a thread on the forums and have updated your first post with your final images / Marmoset file, you're all set. We'll look at every single topic next week and submit them manually ourselves.

If you really want to submit it using the new system, here's what you can try if all else fails:

  • Go to the main contest page and delete your entry, then submit again (the cropping bug affects only the updating of entries)
  • If your thumbnail is black, try uploading a new image saved with different settings (try PNG or JPG, saved at 10 quality max)

hey hey :smiley: the issue I was having, after having a look in the inspector, was a conflict with the 'cors policy'. I'm not gonna claim to know what that is in any shape or form, but I managed to get around it with this:

here's a description of the problem I found:
'Same Origin Policy is preventing the response from being received due to the originating/receiving domains being different due to the port numbers'
and through whatever means, once you install and turn on this plugin everything was dandy :smile:

Hi guys! My thumbnail doesnt loading well, it lugging on the upload. Is there some way to upload it right on a portrait zone? Because it doesnt wat and show ust a black corner of the image( I tried a 3 times(

@r4yl The submitting process is not mandatory. As long as you updated the first post of your topic with your final work your entry will still be considered.

@Lil_G I'm not sure if you fixed it, but your thumbnail seems to be showing fine for me. However, as long as you updated the first post of your topic with your final work your entry will still be considered.
