I've spent quite a hefty amount doodling, and while most of these thumbnails won't be readable to any of you, I hope they're still fun to look at. My initial idea was to create a creature with the body of a man, tail of a serpent and two giant serpents emerging from his back. However, the character turned out to be a nightmare to coordinate so I'll probably save him for another time.

I've decided to instead create a much simpler set of characters and just focus on making a cool pose, composition and story.
So here's the final thumbnail, and the painting I'm going for.
There's still much to be added refined and sketched out, but I guess the average viewer can already get a feeling for what to expect.

I really like the concept! It is so cool. maybe your character could look the right side like she was already moving to her next move, she would appear maybe a little bit more powerfull that way

I made a mental note to myself today to move her head so she's looking elsewhere. I feel like the way she's currently looking is actually kinda killing the flow of the painting. But I'll have to see as I go.

Update!
I was so worried about how I would color these eels, especially since they're such an important part of the painting. Initially I wanted them to be fully white like a ghostly deep sea creature, but I instead went with something closer to a shark or an orka whale. And I love the results, it makes them look/feel far more natural and almost realistic.
I moved the girl's head to the side and it does help with the flow of the composition (and thanks again for the feedback, it was reassuring).

Another day another update!
The girl is pretty much done, onto the eels now!

I'm going to make a radical statement and say that this piece should be done by tomorrow
Quite a few finishing touches are left for me to do and probably a bit of color balancing too.
The water logo will probably be placed on the lower jaw of the eel, although I do wish it was optional.

I'll have a look at it again tomorrow, see if there are any adjustments to be made, add the logo and call it a day!

I made a lot of adjustments to the painting and ended up with 4 versions.
Let me know if you guys prefer any (1 is top and 4 is bottom, so just reply with a number).
And if you could add a little explanation as to why you prefer any of them that would be much appreciated.

Mmm delicious chromatic aberration! The purple of her skin is super striking, works with the muted tones of the dragon things. Also really loving the texture of that bit of water in the left with the splashes. Dunno why but that is so appealing

It's hard to say which is better. The top 2 have stronger contrast in values, but there's something I like more about the bottom 2. I think the softer values and lighter colours in the bottom 2 helps the champion and her leviathans blend more with the environment, as if the mist from the seawater is causing the softer contrast.

In short, either 3 or 4 from me personally. Nice work. You've got an eye for detail.
