The idea of a martial arts earth golem is very intriguing, can't say I've seen that around too much xD great idea, I'm excited to see where you take it

Composition #1 - Sidekick

First go at setting up a scene, trying to decide on what move for the champion to perform.

Composition #2 - Double Forearm Block

Liked the idea of the Elemental being on the defense, while devastating its enemies! So he's here in a back stance, in a double forearm block, while planting his enemy into the earth!

Composition #3 - Axe Kick

Last Composition idea for the evening, the Jumping Axe Kick! Played around with doing just a standing Axe Kick, or the Jumping Axe Kick... I may do a standing one tomorrow. other ideas are a Spin Hook Kick, Stomping Front Kick or a Tornado Kick.

I streamed all of these concepts via my Twitch stream also. https://www.twitch.tv/evrart

Playing around with more composition ideas. Kinda like the stomping on his foes in the foreground so far... though not quite as epic as i'd like it yet.

Incorporating some perspective in the piece and foreshortening on the character will help scale and epicness, if that's what you're struggling with. Although it's getting nearer the deadline so I'd suggest going with one at this point and working over the sketch if you're still not happy

Yeah, i'm being indecisive on which pose to put him in... but there's so many fun ideas for this character! lol! It wouldn't be fun if I wasn't flirting with the deadline, it will be done. This is the way.

Lol you do have a point I suppose, and I shouldn't say anything I made more than 18 thumbnails in the end for my final piece xDD

Lol repetition is good, helps figure out what is working and what isn't. Narrowing down the final comp though! My TKD Instructor, mentioned a rising uppercut would go well with this particular character... so of course I gave it a go. I like it! I may change it to a more downward looking at them coming up view though. Add more Drama and Intensity!

I can't imagine the paint that poor person is going through, being literally knocked through the bottom of the jaw with actual literal stone

Might hurt in the morning
