I like this idea! Reminds me a little of the old sand zombies from Prince of Persia, I love those designs
Good start. I love his wispy ghost tail and the Arabian dresswear. Maybe you could play around with his anatomy and silhouette a little to make him more imposing. Maybe a stronger physique? Or a more skinny/ skeletal-like physique?

solid day head is very boring and needs character will be changing that up as well as rendering the image more. Unfortunately have 2 more days to complete this as i'm back to work and life.

Decided it was lacking interest in the face region, here is a Before and after
Less menacing, but definitely more creative, I like both! I guess it depends really on what kind of feel you want the piece to have in the end
