he's got a real sense of weight, but I looks like he's completely missing his upper arms, I currently read what I assume are biceps as his forearms since it's more normal to see arm stylisation where the forearms become much larger than the upper arm

Yes, that is intended. He has a different anatomy than humans, I did this to give him shorter arms.

Yeah, the only 2 joints are the shoulder and wrist in this case.
