Wanted to get the general feel of how I want the final image to play out. Character design I will focus on later.
Though I like the first concept more, I think the character will be too small.
This is the final concept. Currently I will start the character design once the rest of the image is around 70% done. Let's hope I can finish this before the deadline!

Mostly done with colors. Going to start working on the character. Time is limited so we shall see.
These are similar to what I was thinking for the character
So I decided to go for a emaciated look. She is nearing the end of her life cycle and I felt that it would be better fit for her story. An imp protecting the last remains of her kind.
As for color I tried a warmer look since she is a fire element, but I also in my mind I imagine most imp as being underground creatures. So i went for a more cool color to play with the idea. After looking at both I think I want to tweak the warmer variant to more of a dull reddish color.
Will be adding her clothing later this evening and hopefully finish in time. If I don't finish in time I still plan to finish the entry and I am very happy with myself for even finding the strength/courage to participate in this.
Her attire is set. I pretty much did away with the drape and hood ideas I was having simply because I like how her head design a lot. Was planning on more lose design but figured that as the last of her kind she might want to look more "classy" as far as imps goes. Though I made sure the ends were a bit tattered to show that she doesn't sit and do nothing.
There is a storm it seems, power has gone out for a short moment. I'm going to have to save my work more often.
