Damn these colours are amazing, you're not submitting this one but it's still such an amazing idea wow

@nesokaiyoh Thankyou so much! I want to more fully flesh out her design before I commit to an image concept, but I like exploring different ideas aha

It's definitely nice to see! And I agree I find myself doing the same lol

Hi Everyone, since I'm in the middle of moving house and work, I've been away from the computer for a while, ended up watching @marc's ArtWar entry YouTube vid for some tips.
This was the semi-finished result- keeping in mind I have a way to go in terms of details- with further random thoughts below : 1. I tried using the rule of thirds and layering ideas from the ArtWar video, which definitely helped in the design process, but more refining is needed still..
2. I drew a lot of inspiration of this design from Disney's Moana and Kida from Atlantis The Lost Empire, with the tattoos and hooked weapons
3. I thought the use of an anchor's shape language in the design of the weapon and neckpiece was quite interesting to play with, therefore I am considering naming my heroine "Anchora" or "Ankora" or "Aang-Korra" (ha gettit  )
Anyway, after I finish this image up I should be ready to start my composition %finally%!
Cheers

Bit late on this post, currently dealing with packing boxes and managed to fit this in-
finalised design and weapon idea + exploring the emotions aspect of Ankhora's hair..
Enjoy!

Concept of Khora with the new digs, mind the lack of nose and mouth

14 days later

Hi everyone,
I've been away from the computer for so long that I come back and realise there's only 4 DAYS LEFT! Have to dedicate the majority of my time on finishing this now, I'm cutting it fine already
Below are some of my final image concepts, I hope I can pull this out of the bag fingers crossed

p.s. I might change the viewing angle of the scene to be lower so that Ankora is more imposing- what do you guys think?

Sure you probably have dump this idea (I totally get the art trip to find better ideas etc...like some of us here)...but honestly this one was looking so good :sunglasses:
And your colours are contrasting perfectly.

Of course painting on one layer is a master skill
I really don't think many do that (or at best 3-5 layers)...sure I know Marc Brunet do this (maybe not all the time) :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Anyways, hope you can finish in time !
Best of luck.

Thanks so much @mr_dessin I really appreciate your support!
Yes I might revisit that piece after the deadline and finish it up more anyway, I liked it as well

Here's another progress shot of my composition- the idea is that Ankora is battling a dragon nest on the coast with her marine army beside her.
I want to capture the chaotic nature of the ocean and showcase Ank using her trident to totally destroy an unsuspecting reptile!

p.s. I added a kraken battling the dragons in the background, I'll see if that still reads well in the final image fingers crossed

Whoah the concept for this is honestly stunning, epic! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

Aw thanks @nesokaiyoh for liking it! Yes I'll be pushing time to get this finished but I hope I can pull it off

So much energy and these colours aaahhhh
