First colour key for my entry, this was the main idea that popped into my head of my heroine originating from the waters of a beach somewhere tropical, Early stages!

Here are some basic silhouettes for my character, let me know which one you like

Expanded on some of the silhouettes that I liked, finding some poses...

Added some colour to the sketches, might explore some other ideas :fountain:

The third for me  Good job! The hair will emit lights? Or eyes? :sunglasses:

Yeah 3 looks good. You thought about making some of the hair actual water? Could get some nice translucent colours and pretty light refraction

Still figuring out clothing and styling options, loving the idea where her hair is glowing water with maybe bubbles in it?

That does look super pretty, the glowing bubbles idea is nice, the pink is also really nice. Are they petals?

@nesokaiyoh Well I was thinking that the hair might catch/ store objects in her surroundings, or reflect her emotional state?

Back again with another iteration of the previous post, fixed up the back shoulder and figuring out how to include the water emblem in the design-
maybe she holds an abalone-type shell with the swirls inlaid on it?
I was also wondering if the hair could grow as more things are stored in it- like a portable chest for her staff/hook...

Because I have so much free time, and no better way to spend it- I've done a "quick" proof-of-concept of my character vs one of the other elements- in this case Fire :fire:, and maybe Earth :seedling: ?
This won't be what my final entry is based on at the moment, but I thought I'd share it anyway as progress is progress!

P.S: I should really give her a proper name by now, I'll look into it
P.P.S: Pro-tip- painting everything on one layer takes much, much longer than painting on separate layers..

Damn these colours are amazing, you're not submitting this one but it's still such an amazing idea wow

@nesokaiyoh Thankyou so much! I want to more fully flesh out her design before I commit to an image concept, but I like exploring different ideas aha

It's definitely nice to see! And I agree I find myself doing the same lol

Hi Everyone, since I'm in the middle of moving house and work, I've been away from the computer for a while, ended up watching @marc's ArtWar entry YouTube vid for some tips.
This was the semi-finished result- keeping in mind I have a way to go in terms of details- with further random thoughts below : 1. I tried using the rule of thirds and layering ideas from the ArtWar video, which definitely helped in the design process, but more refining is needed still..
2. I drew a lot of inspiration of this design from Disney's Moana and Kida from Atlantis The Lost Empire, with the tattoos and hooked weapons
3. I thought the use of an anchor's shape language in the design of the weapon and neckpiece was quite interesting to play with, therefore I am considering naming my heroine "Anchora" or "Ankora" or "Aang-Korra" (ha gettit  )
Anyway, after I finish this image up I should be ready to start my composition %finally%!
Cheers
