Here are a few updates from the past few days of work.
I am hoping his shape language speaks to his relationship with the lightning element.

Champion of Lightning:
Initial Thoughts
- themes of Greek, Spartan, Norse
- Weapon is a spear
- Blinded, All about power and not accuracy? Strikes with such a force he does not need to see
- Arm that throws the spear is burned from its power
- Cold skin that has metal designs that flow through the body

Some of my initial block outs. I have been thinking about stylizing the body more by adding more flattened and blocked out anatomy.

Hey Everyone!

Here is the progress from this weekend. Trying really hard to bust this out. Should be moving quite quickly.

Developed the armor and the spear. Didn't know If I should give him a cape, but I think I can play with the movement of it to call toward the lightning theme.

I will be sketching some rough poses with Tpose to bring him to the stance for the final details today. Hopefully his shape language calls to the lightning element. I was thinking the metal bands embedded in him would assist in conducting electricity?

Update before sleep!

Edited some of the form language to help portray the lightning feeling. Used Tpose to sketch a few poses and found I liked this one. Gives a light and stern feeling I wanted to portray and hopefully comes across as the moment before he is about to windup his attack.

Within the one pose I was trying to see how far to stretch the dynamic nature of the pose. I can still teak a bit at the end and have it at a point that would be easy to edit if it needs more curve.

Tomorrow is more detail and trying to finish up for texturing and lighting!

Oh man, so much to do. Looks like not much sleep will be happening. Spent a majority of today tweaking things for final round of details and then swift textures to follow.

I am using the Apose to help visualize my thoughts before tossing them onto the posed version.

I am going to have to pass this one, kinda sucks I wasn't able to do it in time. Next year I will keep my eye so I can catch it in time.
I spent all yesterday texturing and wasn't able to get something I was looking for.

I will post my finished piece later and hopefully it can be enjoyed once it hits 100%
