A rabbit/insect-like humanoid race called the Seta, capable of converting propagated electromagnetic waves to conducted electrical signals through bodily antennae, are to be reckoned with in the lightning faction.
Not sure if this is too late to get in. Probably wont finish at this late an entry, but thought I'd get started nonetheless. Above is a bit serious for me. Not sure if I'll go in this direction - Just trying to bang out some quick ideas and crude modeling reference. The hammer/staff looking thing: Idea here was that this race uses crystals as large capacitors to store their electrical power for large bursts of energy.
