I've been exploring bow designs, material etc. I do know that having the bow follow the same language as the legs and arms the focus points would be lost. So I've decided it to be a traditional, simplistic wooden bow. Which lead me to think about other aspects of the design that I wanted to include, like spirits/magic!
Also I've been working on the vines arms/hands adding more structure with bones gradually getting the vines finished and ready for detailing + texturing.
Here are a few test renders! (renders done in keyshot)
Any suggestions or feedback is always welcome!
Refining the hands and arms, gradually working through each vine-y part. A little tedious but the finish is worth it! I aim to have the vines complete mid weekish, so I can focus on Gaia.

@nesokaiyoh @erigo Thank you so much!
Progress with the vines has been pretty steady. I've been thinking about other elements such as Gaia's outfit. I realized with an outfit there would be a little too much going on, so I've decided to take a different route.
I've been looking into tattoos as a source of inspiration. Combine them with the spiritual glowiness creates this Zelda: breath of the wild feel.
The tattoos are by an incredible artist, her instagram is here: https://www.instagram.com/avwolf_tattoo/
Using her tattoos in a test render, it's definitely the direction I want to be heading in. Over the next couple days I plan on designing the tattoos based on the Earth symbol.
I've also been figuring out the form of the bow which has involved a lot of fun researching. I think I'm sticking to a recurve bow rather than a longbow.
@Marie_Smrcka Thank you!
@JoseTijerin Thank and yes! I recall seeing it in the game (I've only played it briefly) I really want to incorparate the earth embelm into the tattoo I have the next couple days off work so I'm excited to draw some funky patterns!
@Sergei_Pakhomov Thanks
@cedricgo Thank you! I've come up with a couple additions (some doodling at work), really excited to get them modelled
Using the emblem as a base for the design, I created multiple shapes to begin exploring tattoo ideas. I really like the angular forms especially contrasted against the vines. Some are a little too intense, so far my preferred is the final one to the right.
Any suggestions are always welcome!
I hope to get a final design finished in the next couple days; with back, arm and leg tattoos done as well.
The script to the right is taken from Zelda: breath of the wild.
Thanks for the feedback, I love the stripes idea! I definitely needed to address the business as a whole. So I simplified the design using the Zelda script as inspiration, keeping the hexagon as the foundation. I think I'm going to keep some of the more prominent features I like but simplify it a little more.
