5 seconds shows the updates and possible new color direction.
Going for the cold look, don't know how i feel about adding warm colors atm, it might go back to the previous colors but wanted to know what peeps thought about this new color direction. So there are 3 currently, concept colors, previous and now this one. so 1,2,3, making it easier help me decide, thanks for viewing.
working on the hands, and made the accents(sp?) just last night. Gun/Wep design is just messing about with an idea.

Cannon attempt 1, idk if i'll do more renditions but this was on the fly so quad modeling conceptualizing ? & pooped this out.

Short : its all a quaded, recall memory project.

Long info on this process:
Wanting to get everything in at least at a mid level then i can see it all together and decide what stays what goes, if you want to mention anything about this i'll take it into consideration, the thought was a baby dragon body type of thing, didnt look at anything while making it, i tried to use recall memory here when making this and kept it something i made rather than mixing what someone else made into the design. Keeping to the entire model really, its how i went about this. The hand/thumb thing might be insipired by a recent terminator design though i am not sure as i didn't save and of that material so that if someone did it already was recall memory. (idk what else to call it.) Thanks peeps, trying to making something nice, it probably looks lower "detail" because non of this is subdivided yet but i am modeling it all with that in mind, so when i do it, it all should be fine.
Was going to rant how it wouldn't matter if i made something amazing i know i wouldn't win these things yet is till enter..

Ha yea, feeling slow tbh, though i am looking at this as critically as possible. (below i just talk about the process, lots of blabbing.)

How i went about this:
I get the forms in place then i try to add in shapes i like, while also keeping it well read-able at closeups and distances. Every time i add something i rework it to fit into what i have already, will keep doing this till i get it all in then i can rework it all into its final completed stage. (i did this to keep my interest in the design and keep it "fresh", like how i keep playing with colors, just want to make this the best if can be, for me and others if they like what i like..)
Some parts feel possibly to plain (forearms - but the weapon attachments i feel make up for that, right?)(to all.)

While adding in the feet i made (that still need work) I am still playing with the color scheme, removing bits and darkening others. The flat color version of this for me looks great, something is going on when i add in the lights (maybe i have too many.)

Other than those things, will finish working on the feet, go to the pack, go to the weapon+stuff, then finally the helmet.

I did it like this: torso, pack base, legs, weapon positions, hands,feet, ^ then the rest I mention above.
Hope that helps anyone out on their stuff, or attempting anything like this in the future, its new for me to do things like this instead of just having it all in place 1st. I have it in place already, i just built the "style" into the torso and worked my way outside with that to the other parts, concentrating on each limb giving it the attention i feel it deserved before moving onto other parts.

Your design looks really cool, very detailed. I feel like you can add something to the chest part though, it looks a bit empty, even with all the rectangular plates. Maybe you can add in a bigger piece instead of a lot of tiny ones? Also the character doesn't feel personal, it's a bit generic so maybe you could possibly add something that gives them a story, maybe a piece of cloth or something that would contrast with the blue as well (maybe red or yellow). Thanks for coming by @yazziixx i appreciate the comment, i am trying to build this thing up. I'll try to add something, i thought adding the jet pack board would be good enough so maybe i am just not understanding things a concept artist would figure out easily. (hoping to study that more this year, so i can make better things, if i continue this adventure..)

Finally got it 95% in, still didn't create the coil wep/s added wires if anyone cares to see that. I want to say view this as a base mesh for now since i want to change parts i grow out of but at least its all in there for now. Earlier in the month i drew over the headpiece added little bits but kept it basically the same just pointier rather than square.

I'll try to do better next run through this - its not easy that is for sure, respect hard surfacers that don't use kitbashes.

I did something i like, and somehow the teal energy color turns up somewhat green i like the look of that, in-case you notice the change its still teal.
Jp is shown open and closed and might as well use it as a pedstal since he will be in the air if i make it to final. Again will add - remove - so might go dark on posting.

wep ideas, either pick one or i'll make them transition into eachother in the final if i make it to the final, tbh i need prob 2 extra months for my idea. =p (to learn stuff.)

I have some doubts about how could he use the weapon in the fight...Because mounting a weapon on his arm (not in the hand) limits its mobility.

@Sergei_Pakhomov, @aredondocg : Thanks guys, hmmm good points about mobility, jet pack closes in for the quicker movements and the outter wing positions are for the mobility parts. I also picture him on the ground to the others come into play then.
Had thought that 3 coil rods wouldn't be much of a weight problem but then again there are a lot of metal bits, so with this information i could say ground is electrified/heated/blade weapons and air is the cannon. works.

idk if i will use the heated rod, it makes sense if realistic but idk how good it looks, this is just today's day 1 test, entire body said try so i did.

Hey, sorry to hear you're not going to make it for the contest. Still looking forward to seeing it complete. I think it really just needs a good pose and you can add a lot of details in substance painter if you have it.

@faz.d hey thanks, i am hoping to finish but knowing the past work i run into issues that usually take entire days or crashes ect. I do have two versions of s.p. one before adobe and another after adobe and lmfao that once adobe got their hands on it, it started crashing. idk, also my gpu is horrible for that sutff so i'll chalk the crashing/auto closing with 0 msg's up to the gpu dropping out.

Forgot to mention so thankfully you responded faz.d so i could mention what i forgot and that is when i made this unwrap i made it so every piece was can be read.

Every piece is like that even the small stuff, from what i learned the pixels read a lot better like this and prevents jaggies or much need for AA, from the my old school NDS creation days.
Does it matter with high rez maps probably not but this is how i wanted to do it. So yea no auto uv'ing of any kind here all me..I tried SP's auto uv's idk how it works if the entire model isn't on one material..

Hope the videos work and show this off better for all, i was going to upload an Mviewer file but its limitations made me sad tbh and i was like, that wouldn't be in all its glory so i entered like this. Also was going to just post it to have something of mine floating through the net, if i put it up for sale which i am thinking about, i'd probably just give the $ back to everyone who makes apps we use.

Also used a rough image, the visor blinky, cause in this scene he's recharging his power cells so it makes him blink, he's using the storm's electricity/power, he could be going toward the side of the landscape or plummeting straight into it, i like the falling into the ground pointing at his next target.

As for the email thing, artstation is my form of email, hope that is cool and i mean, its free and easy for me.
