I’ve been working on the spear, lighting and adding background elements. Not sure if I want to keep the spaceship. Any ideas are wellcome Once I figure these things out it’s just going to be a matter of rendering and making things bling!
I like the spaceship and the shield they go well together. There is a nice mix of genres in this piece and for me that interesting

@drdarum thanks mate @Lainon thanks so much! Overwatch was a big inspiration for the design. Basically I was thinking what would a Greek Overwatch character look like. For the composition I was looking a lot at LOL splash art, with the super exaggerated camera angles and dynamic poses.
I think the shield could be a little more high-tech to tie in with the ship. Some mechanical parts in armor joints too maybe?
It’s been a while! I got some time to work on this and feel like I’m most of the way there. Trying to make some final decisions before I flatten it to apply some overall effects. @WeirdOwl added this panelling on the shield to make it more mechanical. I’m not sure they do the job, maybe I’ll go for some lights too.

Hey this is looking great especially the face! Only suggestion I have is perhaps adding some more lighting from the glow of the top spear tip onto the shaft.
I like where this is going! I wouldn't do lights, as they may conflict with your focal point, but maybe add some thicker mechanical bits at the junction between the outer frame and horns? Very nice movement and perspective.
You could add some seams to his gloves and maybe add a texture to the yellow parts of his shield like you had in the image above, but overall it looks really good.
Right, I’ve been working on this for a while and fatigue is setting in. So I’m calling it done for now. I’ll give it another look before the deadline and see if anything sticks out to me. @drdarum @WeirdOwl @Looris thanks for the notes, I think some way or another all of them got addressed and the painting looks better for it I do still need to update the character sheet though, so that’s coming

Great job! I really like your champion's sci-fi-meets-ancient-greece design. Also I like the bold colors in the action illustration
During the main illustration Aristokles underwent some changes so I’m updating his design sheet. Taking this chance to also change to a more dynamic asymmetric pose too. Happy with feedback if you have any!
I don't know if it's the skirt, but his hips seem wider than his shoulders to me, and I think a stylised, Adonis like physique works better with a top heavy, triangular shape overall.

@moirae You’re right, he’s lost his V shape on that one. Unfortunately I can’t find time to finish this, I’ll amend the first design instead. @ems Thanks so much! I’m not really striving for clean rendering but maybe my background in graphic design has left me some ocd with clean lines.
