My warrior will defend the Norway, because it is the fabulous nature, pure water, pure hearts. I have add a mood and reference board with colors of Norway - some foggy nature and so bright red houses, it is looks so contrastingly ! So I want to add such contrast to my character. As a weapon I choose the compound bow - so accurate and long-range weapon.

Today I have worked on the pose and base sketch for the result illustration. I really enjoy this process, but it seems that I still not found the right composition.

Also some work on compound bow design. Actually, this is a type of weapon that looks cool in itself, these blocks are so complexly arranged. Enemies scatter even from one type of this bow, but of course the arrow's speed does not allow them to escape)))

And also I want to add some stone trolls (because they are inherent part of Norway mythology).
They actually look like some reference to masterpiece - Princes Mononoke spirits

But they are - stones, and they are move in rolls. They are too vulnerable , so they are need to be under the protection of my character.

Here are my final illustration and concept. It was amazing time to work with such character - the defender of nature, of norway trolls and spirits as an important particles of Norway culture.

I'll just let you know that your final illustration shows up for me as being 2002 pixels wide by 1126 in height, which is a bit too small for the requirements of the contest. It needs to be at least 2048 pixels on one side. It's possible that the image you tried to upload was too large and got resized by the forums. If that's the case you'd need to resave a new one that's ideally 1mb or less in size.
