I thought that it would be really cool to have a centaur with giant wings. It will surely be a challange to make this character feel "balanced", but I will do my best!
I've took some of my favourite Polish things and tried to merge them together doing some super loose sketches. I still haven't settled on one idea, but I know that I would like her to have the wings protruding out of her headpiece/hair, rather than her back.

Interesting idea to have the wings form out of the head, I think this might be an difficult challenge. Will they be decorative wings or storng enough for the cantaur to fly?
Maybe hair could magicly form into wings or something.
I love the hair and wings idea, but I feel like I won't be able to execute this idea clearly enough. I was thinking of keeping the same function of the wings, as the original hussars had. It wasn't just some fashion statment, they were used to cause a lot of noise and to make the enemy feel like there is thousands of horse riders coming instead of hundreds or even dozens. They basically were a musical instrument, which is really cool in my opinion, so I will try to keep them close to the original size 
Thats really cool, this years artwar has been great for finding out lots of interesting cultural and historial facts which have been really inspiring. Looking forward to seeing the design develop!
The other part that I need to work on is the tail. Currently she has some ribbons that are inspired by traditional Masovian outfits. I like this idea, but maybe going with a nicely braided horse tail would be better, who knows?

Iterations! Ahh my true love. I love trying out diffrent ideas (even if they turn to be really bad haha). This time I've tried to explore how much of a "warrior" I want my centaur to feel like. In the end I feel like 5 is my favourite for now, but there is still a lot of stuff to figure out. I'll defiently need to work on her weapon a bit more...
What about you? Please share your thought and which one you like! I would love to hear your opinion
All of this are great ideas but if I have to chose, I'm more inclined for the 6 head because the feathers (I think those are feathers... Could be wrong) and the body of 5, I think it could give it a more majestic tone to the character while charging to battle!

I like the hair and outfit of the human body in 5, also I like the outfit of the horse in 2 and the weapon in 1
