I've got more of a firm idea of the direction I want to head now, we're going mega mecha baby! The mecha will be named "Burning Heart" YD-Goch (derived Y Draig Goch, the red dragon of wales) and feature elements of said dragon in the design. I'll also be pulling in knight elements and will be weilding a greatsword. The pilot I'm not super solid on yet, but wanted to get a base down to iterate some costumes on, more to follow later!

I love the shapes of the helmet. The question is do you want to show facial expressions? Then your other ideas would be better, but if you want to make her a bit more distanced and mysterious the helmet would be a cool way to go looking forward to this ^^

Haha, thanks! I'm shooting for a little best of both worlds where you see both the mech in action, and the pilot in a cutaway frame, sort of like a comic page. This quick sketch is a little more conceptual than representational of what I'm thinking:

here's a handfull of costume concepts side by side for the pilot, next Ill be combining into a more finalized design, and then on to the mech.
