Hey everyone!
Here's the first iteration of smth I have in mind for this character.

Used my extremely weak kitbashing skills to come up with smth, it roughly
looks like what I would like to do. There are a number of undecided questinable things:
1) Skin color and ethnicity will most likely change, because in Australia skin color is quite light. Only aboriginals have dark skin (still lighter that the one in the pic), it will come down to my choice.
2) NO IDEA where to stick the flag, working version - on the head. The alternative is on the shield.
3) I CAN'T DO FUR FOR DEAR LIFE, but I will manage hopefully

The most interesting thing here for me personally is combini the anatomy of a kangaroo with a human one to make it look pretty. I will think about other design variations and start work in a couple of days: 3

Good luck to all of you!

Second attempt at character design. For now the only thing that I'm positive in is that he has to have kangaroo legs xD I tried the UFC angle with this one.

Don't like the flag and its design overall. I have another idea in mind, gotta give it a try tomorrow.

And we continue the prep phase for the waaar, still thinking about character design. Third iteration. I again moved away from the previous two options and approached the design from a different angle. Now we have the following backstory:

This is a serial killer who wished "to jump out" from the Asylum where he was imprisoned. This \ yet unknown magical entity \ fulfilled the wish in a slightly warped way and gave him kangaroo legs, which can break bones.

What I like about this iteration:

  1. There is no impudent placement of the flag of Australia, but the arrangement of the elements seems to imply it (with belts and traces of blood on them)
  2. Generally unusual design in my opinion Ρ…Π”

Problem:
There are also stars on the flag of Australia (because the flag must be different from the flag of Great Britain duh), so I don’t know where to put them in the design. At least in this case. I will think further, but for now I like this option the most.

I started blocking out the character. I will still be looking for a suitable ratio between legs' length and torso. I know for sure that I want to make the body rather skinny, and the legs are more powerful, it will turn out ala a triangle in design. Let's see how it goes :3 I will stick to the design with a straight jacket

Progress for today. I won't go into details with the body, because it will be covered anyway, but (!) I want to get a very "sharp" silhouette when I put his hands behind the back (and before that I will make my hands xD) and put it in straitjacket.

I thought for a very long time how to approach the process of character creation. Like, whether to make him first in a T pose, then make him a straitjacket, and then bend his arms into the desired pose. After that I imagined that it was like a character for a fighting game, where usually the character design does not change at all (e.g. there are no situations when he takes off his straitjacket). Thus I decided to immediately bend him into the desired position more or less.
